India – Delta Corp takes legal action with government over COVID-related licence fees

Goa casino operator Delta Corp is taking legal action against the Government of Goa after it chased payment of license fees from when COVID closed its casinos.
The government wants payment of the license fees with interest added on, which Delta wants waived.
The operator said: “As provisions were already made in the relevant accounts and financial statements for these payments, there is no impact on the profit and loss account or the financial position of the company or its subsidiaries. Nevertheless, we will be pursuing our legal remedies against this order,” it said.
